EGYPT: Singer Shyma in prison for a clip deemed too suggestive

Two years in jail for “incitement to debauchery” for Egyptian singer Shyma. So decided a court on Tuesday December 12, 2017. His crime; an appearance in a suggestive clip.

She was arrested on November 18 after filing complaints against the music video for her song “Andy Zoroof” (“I have problems”). The 21-year-old singer will also have to pay a fine of 10,000 Egyptian pounds (480 euros). The director of the video Mohamed Gamal was also sentenced to the same penalty.
