They are Eric Laurent and Catherine Graciet. These two French journalists are accused of wanting to blackmail the king of Morocco. They claimed three million euros against the publication of a book. They were arrested in Paris on Thursday, August 27, 2015. And a judicial investigation for blackmail and attempted extortion had been opened. The French justice recognized yesterday Friday, November 10, the validity of two clandestine recordings at the origin of their charge. Recordings that were disputed by the two confreres.

As a reminder, Eric Laurent had obtained an appointment with the cabinet of the King of Morocco. It was during the exchange that the journalist and writer had with the representative of said firm that he would have demanded the payment of three million euros in exchange for the non-publication of his book, co-authored with Catherine Graciet. Otherwise he threatened to reveal compromising information for the sheriff’s power. But lack of pot for him, the Moroccan authorities had immediately decided to file a complaint.
