BURUNDI: Inauguration of the national road in the province of Giteg

The Burundian president Pierre Nkurunziza inaugurated on Monday, August 28, 2017, the national asphalt road Makebuko-Ruyig.

In addition to this road, a hotel, an administrative block and a lodge for the patients of the National Center of Appliance and Rehabilitation (CNAR) was also inaugurated by the Head of State.

National Road No. 12 (RN 12) Makebuko-Ruyigi has been paved and the second phase of Butaganzwa-Ruyigi was built with the African Development Bank (AfDB) financing of $ 5 million.

The hotel structure has a capacity of 50 rooms of which 25 functional and the rest of the rooms is under construction.

The administrative block and the NARC pavilion were built for an amount of 286,000,000 Burundian francs with own funds.

Established in 1986, the aim of the fitting center is to ensure the functional rehabilitation of physically handicapped persons. In recent months with the flow of patients, it has recorded 77 consultations, 500 rehabilitation sessions have been carried out, 100 patients have been re-educated, 25 children under two years have had their feet bots corrected. Finally, nearly 50 acts of orthopedic correction of plaster were carried out, said a deputy head of department of the center.
