On social networks in Côte d’Ivoire, publications reporting cases of disappearances and kidnappings are recurrent. Recently, the story of a lady who tells how she managed to escape her captors after being kidnapped in a taxi adds to the psychosis. The national police responded with a statement.

Photos of missing persons, men, women, girls and boys, are almost daily seen on social networks in Côte d’Ivoire. Which ended up setting up some psychosis. Hence the reaction of the national police by a communiqué whose objective is to raise awareness and invite the populations to denounce to the police services any fact likely to harm the physical integrity or the life of the citizens. Below, said press release.
In recent months, the National Police has been reporting on the social networks about kidnappings. Anything that creates psychosis in populations.

It must be noted that these facts continue to make headlines because of the many comments and shares made by Internet users.
For example, on January 10, 2022, the husband of a woman reported to the Criminal Police Directorate to report the disappearance of her partner. Investigations into this case revealed that the latter had left the home for marital problems and had not been abducted. She later returned to her home on her own.

Similarly, on December 31, 2021, a sixteen (16) year old girl was reported missing. The police search carried out following the seizure of her father on January 12, 2022, made it possible to find her in Djorogobité, five days later. When questioned, she said she voluntarily left the family home to make herself a space of freedom because of her father’s strong surveillance. It was a simple fugue.

On January 21, 2022, an Applicant filed a complaint with the Police to report the disappearance of his wife, who had in fact travelled within the country to spend the weekend.

The last recent case is related to an audio in which a lady had seized the Gendarmerie of Djébonoua of a complaint of kidnapping of which she was allegedly victim. Investigations to this effect have not allowed the Force to obtain reliable and consistent evidence.
