The Minister of State and former Secretary General of the Party of Independence and Labor (PIT), Amath Dansokho has just been reminded of God at home (Dakar) this Friday, August 23, 2019 after a long illness.
Iconic figure of politics in Senegal, Amath Dansokho was born in 1937. He was minister then deputy and Mayor of Kédougou.
Secretary General of the PIT until May 2010, he was replaced by Maguette Thiam.
He was part of the Benno Bokk Yaakaar coalition of President Macky Sall.
Amath Dansokho was also next to President Abdoulaye Wade during the alternation in 2000.
