CAN 2027 – A CAF mission in Dakar

The Senegalese Football Federation (FSF) informs in a communiqué published this Thursday, July 20, 2023, that a mission of experts of the African Football Confederation (CAF) is expected in Dakar this Thursday for the inspection of the various sites selected by Senegal for the organization of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) 2027. The delegation will be in Senegal from 21 to 24 July 2023.

Following the submission of its final application to the organization of CAN 2027, followed by the signing of all the documents of agreement and guarantees, the African Football Confederation (CAF) has just decided in accordance with the specifications, the sending of an inspection mission to Senegal to take stock of the situation in terms of sports infrastructure (stadiums and training grounds), hotels, airports and hospitals. This mission was entrusted to a private firm Price Watherhouse Coopers (PWC) whose experts are expected in Senegal on July 20, 2023,” according to a statement from the FSF.

Thus, from 21 to 24 July 2023, an independent evaluation will be conducted by these experts at the various sites of the regions selected to host the CAF delegation, its guests and partners, the teams and their delegation as well as all the officials and actors involved in the organisation and management of the activities”, adds the document.

The target sites are: Dakar and Diamniadio (21 July), Mbour (22 July) Ziguinchor (23 July), Saint-Louis (24 July).
