SENEGAL – Fatma Samoura to receive World Football Summit Award of Excellence

The Pan-African leader in communications consulting and press release distribution announces that FIFA Secretary General Fatma Samoura has been selected to receive the first-ever World Football Summit Award of Excellence for her entire career. The award will be presented to Ms Samoura at the upcoming World Football Summit in Seville, Spain, on 20 and 21 September. It is awarded in honour of his outstanding achievements and influence on the future of football.

Fatma Samoura, born in Senegal, worked for 21 years at the United Nations before making history by becoming the first African woman Secretary General of FIFA. She will complete her term in December 2023.

This is the first time a person has received the World Football Summit Lifetime Achievement Award, and the award ceremony promises to be a memorable event, celebrating Fatma Samoura’s outstanding contribution to the world of football. His work has enriched both sport and society as a whole, highlighting the power of football as a catalyst for positive change.

We couldn’t imagine a better person to receive our first Lifetime Achievement Award, and we hope it will inspire other leaders to follow in Fatma’s footsteps”said Jan Alessie, co-founder and director of the World Football Summit.
