While in the United States as part of the USA-Africa summit, President Macky Sall spoke out on a number of topical issues at the Western media. Especially on the issue of the third mandate.

In this regard, Macky Sall still does not want to clarify his position but he recognizes that his candidacy is legally valid.
It is clear that today there is no legal debate [as to whether or not he can stand again]. Now, whether I am a candidate or not, that is my decision. When I decide, I will let the Senegalese people know,” he said.

That was in the New York Times. Macky Sall having given an interview to their correspondent in Dakar, before flying to the United States. It is normal that I am criticized in my political action, not only in my work as president.

He said there needs to be more space for Africa at the G20 and at the UN Security Council. In the latter instance, Macky Sall wants two permanent seats with the right of veto. As far as the G20 is concerned, the issue is on track, he says. But for the Security Council, “the debate is more difficult.”
