The private Catholic school has implemented its new regulation that excludes Muslim students who want to wear the veil in the institution. This Tuesday, September 3, 2019, many students of primary and secondary school were victims of this measure.

To justify this new provision in this school, the following message was sent to the parents of students: “the Congregation of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Cluny on which depends the school, decided that the dress authorized from September 2019 will be composed the usual uniform with an uncovered head, both for girls and boys, “reports one of the parents of students Mohamed Rose.

According to some students who have attended the school for several years now, this decision seems surprising especially since the veil has never been a problem.

The principal of the establishment, Rayana Tall, herself a Muslim, declares that it is not a ban on the veil but rather the respect of the new rules of procedure.

It should be remembered that in May 2019, the Institut Sainte Jeanne D’Arc issued a press release to announce to the parents that the measure will be applied at the beginning of the school year in September.
