Four (04) strains of Coronavirus are circulating in Senegal, says Dr Sokhna. Research on the respiratory microbiota revealed that “in Senegal, for example, there are four strains or types of coronaviruses that circulate and have always created colds,” he said.
Other studies around the world have mentioned at least 100 different Coronaviruses. It shows that Sras cov2 mutates. “This is the very nature of the virus,” says the IRD Director General.
