SENEGAL – Ousmane SONKO case: A struggle that is internationalizing, “Anonymous”, the hacktivist movement warns
This Friday, March 5 “Anonymous” posted a message on its Tweeter page addressing Senegalese President Macky Sall. A message that follows the worrying socio-political situation that currently prevails in Senegal with the arrest of opposition leader Ousmane Sonko accused of rape by Adji Sarr, a 21-year-old masseuse. On 3 March 2021, Ousmane Sonko is on the road to respond to his summons, he was charged with disturbing public order before being arrested. Protests broke out throughout the territory. Internet-related disturbances were noted.
“Macky Sall, if you have a case against the Leader of the Opposition, that’s one thing. But you have no excuse to shut down the internet or harm protesters. If you have nothing to hide, let the world watch and people express themselves.”
As a reminder, “Anonymous” is a hacktivist movement, protesting notably on the Internet. The name of this collective is considered a catch-all word designating members of certain communities of Internet users acting anonymously for a particular purpose.

TOGO: For a new Strategic Plan for the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT).
Togolese authorities want to endow the country with a new Strategic Plan for the development of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) over the period 2018 to 2022.
The goal of the Togolese government is to cover all of the country’s broadband Internet connection networks. Its goal: to allow every citizen to be 5 km from a high-speed Internet point by 2022.
The government’s vision is to cover the country with the Internet connection, so that all Togolese are not more than 5 km from a high-speed Internet point by 2022.
To make Togo a technological hub by 2030, it is a question for the country “to invest fully in ICT, modernizing the tools of sectors of economic activity” according to the Togolese Minister of Posts and Economy digital Cina Lawson.
It should be noted that the reform of the regulatory framework and the strengthening of regulation, the dynamization of markets, the development of infrastructures and the increase in the use of ICT by the population have been and remain the main thrusts of government policy over the period 2011 to 2015.
“The new sectoral policy being developed aims to specify the orientations and the strategy that will enable the ministry to achieve the objective set. It targets both the development of the ICT sector and the induced effects of ICTs on all other sectors of the economy, including health, education, agriculture, provision of services public for the economic and social development of the country, “added Lawson.
Finally, it will be for the government to bring ICT closer to users, in order to promote a real digital economy in the country over the next four years
