The former wrestling champion, Mbaye Gueye, died this Saturday, July 7, 2021 at the age of 75, after a long illness. The former glory had had a cardiovascular accident (stroke) a few months ago.
The Senegalese struggle has just lost one of its best old glories that has forever marked its time. Mbaye Gueye, known as Fass’s tiger, was a technical and very courageous wrestler.
The nickname «Tigre de Fass» was given to him by a contributor to the national daily Le Soleil, on July 14, 1968 during his fight against Sa Ndiambour.
After the end of his wrestling career, Mbaye Gueye was a member of the Fass team. He is also the big brother of wrestling champion Moustapha Guèye, 2nd Tigre de Fass. The Fass stable and the world of wrestling have lost a loved one. The title of “Fass tiger” is currently worn by Gris Bordeaux, whose real name is Ibrahima Dione.
