MOROCCO – Imran Louza turns his back on France and chooses Morocco

The French international of Moroccan origin, Imran Louza, decided to evolve in Morocco, his father’s country. The Watford midfielder, had already played for the Atlas Lions in two games with the under-20s in 2017, before joining the French under-17s team.

The Moroccan football selection will be able to count on Imran Louza for the upcoming competitions. Thus, he will strengthen the midfielder of the team of the kingdom in preparation for the next matches. The coach, Vahid Halilhodžić, had been trying for several weeks to convince the midfielder to join the Atlas Lions, already qualified for the Africa Cup of Nations in January.

Originally from Morocco, Imrân Louza played with the Morocco U20 team twice in 2017, and scored a goal against France with a 3-2 victory for Morocco.
Louza celebrated his first selection with the French U23 team on 5 September 2019, against Albania. He started the match, and France won on the score from four goals to zero. The next match against the Czech Republic, Louza came into play during the game with a victory from France (3 – 1).
