Burundi launched on Tuesday, August 14, 2019 in Gatumba, the main border town with the Democratic Republic of Congo a vast vaccination campaign against Ebola. Its goal is to stop the spread of this virus that has already made almost 1900 victims in the DRC.

The Burundian authorities have not waited to strengthen their health sector personnel in the border with the DRC. Indeed, it is the part of the country where the rate of risk of contamination is higher with in particular loss of human life caused by the disease.

One of the most sensitive sectors in the country today is facing the spread of the Ebola virus. The latter has already made the ravages of Guinea Biseau to Liberia through Sierra Leone, Niger, Nigeria, Mali, Ivory Coast and even Senegal. He had killed 11310 people between December 2013 to March 2016.
