On Tuesday, August 6, 2019, the judge of the second chamber of the Dakar Court of Appeal found Abdoul Mbaye guilty of the charges against him and sentenced him to one year of suspended imprisonment, followed by a fine of 100 million FCFA to pay to his ex-wife Aminata Diack.

The verdict fell on Tuesday in the case opposing former PM Abdoul Mbaye to his wife Aminata Diack. The latter had lodged a complaint against her husband for mistreatment and voluntary abandonment of the matrimonial home for another woman while he had opted for monogamy.

Abdoul Mbaye received a suspended prison sentence of 1 year suspended sentence, contrary to the indictment of the Prosecutor who required 1 year of imprisonment and a fine of 1 billion to pay his ex-wife for damages. The fine will ultimately be only 100 million FCFA.
