BALLON D’OR 2021 – Patrice Evra tackles France Football

The critics appear everywhere after the selection of the winners on the sidelines of the ceremony organized by France Foortball on Monday 29 November in Paris. The former French international of Senegalese origin, Patrice Evra, blasted with the last energy the gold ball attributed to the Argentinean, Lionel Messi, as well as the choice of the Italian Gianluigi Donnarumma as best goalkeeper during the 2020/2021 season ahead of the Senegalese giant Édouard Mendy. In a video posted on his Instagram account, the former Monegasque talks about corruption and shoots France Football.
Patrice Evra could not contain his anger after the ceremony of handing over the gold ball 2021 which rewards the best players of the year. Known for his outspokenness, he slammed the winners, from Lionel Messi to Robert Lewandowski to the Yachine Trophy for the best goalkeeper of the season. “It’s embarrassing. It’s been going on for years, too much is too much. Congratulations to Messi. We are no one to judge whether he deserves it or not, but I think people should have answers to their questions.’ Messi didn’t have a bad season, look at his stats, he did a great exercise. But I’m sorry, Lewandowski has been better this year, but also last year,‘ he added with a distressing tone.
Patrice Evra did not stop there. The reward received by the Italian PSG goalkeeper, Gianluigi Donnarumma, really annoyed him. For him, the Senegalese goalkeeper was far superior with 28 games played this season without conceding a goal. The Italian goalkeeper just made a good performance at the Euro 2021 with the trophy of his team in the final against England. Patrice Evra openly believes that Africa is underestimated and still stranded in the selection of winners. “Of course, it’s the Africa Cup. We’re monkeys, so nobody respects that competition. This is the only competition where you have to leave your club, leave for three weeks and play this cup because in Africa, we always have a small place (..) But things are going to change, things are going to change.” He made it clear.
