Counsel at the Court, Claude Mentenon, made the announcement on Monday, June 21, 2021. “Mr. Laurent Gbagbo announces that, because of Simone Ehivet’s repeated refusal over the years to consent to an amicable separation, in the meantime he has resolved to seize this day, the judge of matrimonial cases of the Court of First Instance of Abidjan of an application for divorce,” the lawyer said.
