The Pastef claims once again that it does not have a Plan B. On RFI, Monday, August 28, 2023, El Malick Ndiaye, the head of communication of the Pastef training, dissolved at the end of July 2023, said that they are still behind Ousmane Sonko and even plan to launch a «Coalition Sonko» after the Magal de Touba festival that will take place on September 4.

The politician’s entourage wants to continue fighting. The removal of their candidate’s electoral lists, confirmed by a prefectural source, is disputed by Ousmane Sonko’s supporters who say they have received no documents. For them, he can remain a candidate even behind bars, in this scenario he would just be prevented from beating campaign.

Then all appeals will be used, both to keep their candidate on the lists, but also to challenge the dissolution of the Pastef party. Steps have been taken at the Senegalese Supreme Court and ECOWAS among others. Although officially, Pastef does not prepare a plan B, according to a source within the political party, other candidates are possible. But the time has not come, because Ousmane Sonko is «robust».
