SENEGAL – F24 announces big rally on July 21, 2023

The Platform “of the living forces of the F24 Nation”, which brings together more than a hundred parties and civil society organizations, announces a big rally in the Place de la Nation on Friday, July 21, 2023. Aliou Sané and Cie invite all Senegalese to come massively to demand the release of “political detainees” and “prisoners of opinion”, to also fight for a transparent and inclusive free election.

“The Platform of Living Forces calls for a big rally on Friday, July 21, 2023, starting at 3 p.m. at the Place de la Nation for the Release of Political Prisoners for a free participation for a free and transparent election and for public freedoms.”, announced Aliou Cissé, vice coordinator of the F24 Platform at a press conference on Tuesday.

He added: We want the July 21 gathering to be even more massive and peaceful. A gathering whose objective will be to bring the people in all their diversity to Place de la Nation so that the regime of President Macky Sall will release the hundreds of political prisoners and opinions who have been in prisons for several months.”

According to the coordinator of the movement Enough is enough, the rally allows to warn President Macky Sall not to torpedo the rest of the electoral process.

All Senegalese need free, transparent and inclusive elections, and any candidate who wants to run for the Senegalese vote is allowed to participate. And demand that this politico-judicial farce of which Ousmane Sonko, member of the F24, is victim that it stops and that he can participate in the election as well as all Senegalese who want to run for the supreme office».
