Immigration, this scourge that, as every day, every year causes immense human losses among the African and particularly Senegalese population. Every day, canoes are leaving for Europe. Adults, young and old risk their lives on this perilous and dangerous journey.
Just this week, dozens of victims and missing persons were counted. The cause: the explosion of their makeshift boat in the open sea.
Senegalese President Macky Sall did not remain indifferent to this tragedy. He expressed himself through his facebook page: “It was with great emotion that I learned of the explosion, on the high seas, of the engine of a canoe carrying young compatriots. A tragedy that caused the loss of more than a dozen young people. On this painful occasion, I offer, on behalf of the Nation and myself, my heartfelt condolences to the grieving families.All steps will be taken by the government to help them overcome this ordeal. Peace to their souls.”
