This Thursday, December 14, the district court of Dakar cancelled the removal of the opponent Ousmane Sonko from the electoral lists. This reintegration opens a voice for the politician for the presidential election of February 2024.
The court debated last Tuesday on this political file, a file on which the candidacy of the Mayor of Ziguinchor depends. A judge confirmed a judgment rendered last October by the Ziguinchor court, which had been quashed by the Supreme Court in mid-November.
This decision puts in the race the Senegalese opponent who had been removed from the lists after being sentenced to two years in prison in June in a morality case.
