Omar Pène / Ousmane Sonko

The vocal lead of the Super Diamono broke out of a post this Monday to react to his song «Koubakh La» diverted as a propagandist. Omar Péne who assures that it is neither his voice nor with his consent invites the authors of this «package» to reveal themselves with courage and to explain publicly the reasons for this «inappropriate» act. The artist-musician says he remains in his place as a singer who works as always in the service of his country and Africa.

It was with amazement that I discovered, like everyone else, my song «Koubakh La» diverted to the needs of political propaganda. It struck the minds of my admirers, relatives, friends and many people. I would like to reassure them that this is neither my voice nor my consent. Those who reproduced this piece and those who adapted the song by incorporating this propaganda, are probably unaware that they violate the moral rights of the rights holders who composed, arranged, wrote and sang this title. I leave it to the authors of this package to courageously reveal themselves and publicly explain the reasons for this inappropriate act. Once again, I would like to reassure the public that Oumar PENE will remain in his place as an artist, singer, always at the service of his country and Africa.
