SENEGAL: Extension of the state of emergency.

It is now official, the state of emergency is extended in Senegal until 2 June 2020. The President of the Republic Macky Sall decided by decree the implementation of this measure.

On Saturday 2 May 2020, President Macky Sall signed a decree to extend the state of emergency in the country. This extension, which will last a month, is accompanied by a curfew every day from 8pm to 6am. Senegalese are called to stay at home. The objective of this measure is to fight against the spread of coronavirus in the country.

Senegal is as other African countries, affected by covid-19. Since the onset of the virus on March 2, 2020, two months ago, 1,115 contaminations and nine deaths were recorded, 368 patients are reported cured.
