Algerian Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelbaki Benziane has set the date of the academic year this Friday, August 18, 2021. The news was made public by his department through a press release.
Algeria, the date of the 2021-2022 academic year is finally known this Friday, August 18. The start date for teachers and administrative staff has been set for September 4, 2021. For students, they must resume on October 03, 2021. The date of the remedial examinations, the defences and the deliberations that were postponed because of the third wave of Covid19 was rescheduled. It will be from September 4 to 30, 2021.
It should also be noted that the Ministry of National Education has postponed the date of the school year originally scheduled for 7 September to 21 September 2021. The reason given is coronavirus disease.
“A change of the date of the new school year has been made for the year 2021 for all regions of the country. Administrative staff and officials will join their positions on Friday morning, September 1, 2021, while teachers will resume on Friday, September 7. Students are scheduled to return to school on September 21,” the Ministry of Education said in a statement released this morning.
