The French boxer Tony Yoka scored a tenth success for his tenth fight in the pros since Friday 5 March in Nantes. A resounding victory against the Belgian Joël Tambwe Djeko, which allows him to afford his first professional belt: that of the heavyweights of the European Union. The success of the French boxer came in the 12th round with a tough battle where Tony Yoka knocked out his opponent one minute before the end. 

Tony Yoka, the 2016 Olympic champion, fought a hard-fought battle against Belgian Joël Tambwe Djeko. It is the first time that the French boxer wins a fight in 12 rounds, as the opponent was difficult to maneuver. But Tony Yoka showed the Belgian that he was the boss in the ring of the H Arena in Nantes. In the end, out of the 12 rounds, none were to the advantage of Djeko, who came back a bit on the rebound 5, 6 and 7. After a series of straight and a last uppercut, the Belgian was knocked out at 1:30 of the end of the 12th round.

With this belt obtained in the European Union heavyweight category, Yoka is the official challenger of the British Joe Joyce, holder of the EBU belt. Two boxers who know each other all the more because the French beat the formidable English in the Olympic final in 2016.
