The opening match of the 32nd edition of the Africa Cup of Nations was played today in Cairo at 20h. The organizing country, Egypt, has taken over the young formation of Zimbabwe.
A pleasant match with a lot of rhythm and a slight domination of the pharaohs who had trouble opening the mark very early. It was Mouhamed Trezeguet who thrilled the 74,000 spectators present to push their team to victory. In the 43rd minute, he asked for a double-two and eliminated the defender before wrapping his shot out of range of Zimbabwean goalkeeper Edmore Sibanda.
The Zimbabweans will push to try to equalize in the second half, but the Egyptian defense was well organized.
This little goal of Mohamed Trezeguet two minutes from the break is enough to give the victory to the Egyptians who have managed their bet to make a good introduction.
