The second match of pool A was played today at 14:30 in Cairo in a half-empty stadium. The DRC, which had difficulty preparing for the CAN with a defeat against Burkina Faso (1 – 0) and a draw against Kenya (1 – 1), lost to the Ugandan underdogs on the score of 2 to 0.

Uganda knocked out the leopards by opening the scoring in the 14th minute via Patrick Kaddu who headed in from the far post Faruku Miya’s corner.

The players of the DRC had a lot of trouble to find, to combine correctly. The only frank opportunity for the Leopards in the first half was obtained by the Villarreal player, Cedric Bakambu in the 43rd minute: a pivoting shot down the ground diverted by goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

In the second half, the DRC is still surprised on kick set. Faruku Miya, the corner kicker behind the first goal, fired a nice free-kick from the head by Emmanuel Okwi, who scored the second goal in the 48th minute. The score will not evolve despite the many attempts of the Leopards.
