CAN 2019: Nigeria eliminates the defending champion.

One of the shocks of the knockout stage of this CAN 2019 was between Nigeria and Cameroon this Saturday, July 6, 2019. A match that has kept all its promises and saw the Super eagles take over the Indomitable Lions 3 to 2.

Nigeria has met the challenge against Cameroon. In the 18th minute, Odion Ighalo opened the scoring on a counterattack that took off against young Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana (1 – 0).

The Cameroonians managed to equalize in the 42nd minute by Stéphane Bahoken on a magnificent center Christian Bassogog (1 – 1). Two minutes later, Clinton Njie doubled the lead on a limpid right foot shot (2 – 1).

After the break, the Nigerians go up a notch and equalize in the 63rd minute thanks to a doubling of Odion Ighalo following a chest discount Ahmed Musa (2 – 2).

Three minutes after this realization, Alex Iwobi inherits a decisive pass from Odion Ighalo and misleads André Onana (3 – 2).
