Samuel Eto’o, the new president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, apologized to the Algerians for the attack on three of his journalists on Sunday in Douala.
Three Algerian journalists were attacked on Sunday, the first day of the 33rd edition of the African Cup of Nations.
Very embarrassed, the president of the Cameroonian Federation Samuel Eto’o wanted to apologize to all Algerians, while reminding them that what happened «is not Cameroonian hospitality».
“Our dear fellow journalists, I would like to offer you our sincere apologies because some of our brothers were attacked in Douala.”
I humbly ask you to tell these brothers that we are asking for forgiveness. This is not Cameroonian hospitality. Please ask for their forgiveness and tell them that they are at home. We will go to our minister and all our authorities and tell them that our brothers are in our country and they must feel safe as if they were in Algiers… May God bless you and may your stay in Cameroon take place in the best of ways,” Samuel Eto’o told the Algerian television microphones.
