The authorities have decided, the municipality of Ibanda de Bukavu will enter into confinement for three days between 1 and 3 June 2020. A decision was taken on Wednesday 27 May 2020 at the Provincial Security Council chaired by the Governor of South Kivu.

The primary objective of this containment is to stop the spread of the coronavirus but also to locate all infected people in order to quarantine them and contain the disease in the region.Note that, the city of Bukavu has already recorded about ten cases of confirmed contamination of covid-19 including one death.

The authorities also called on the population to make provisions for food before entering confinement. And as Minister Lwabanji Lwasi Ngabo pointed out, everyone must stay at home: “I want to make it clear that confinement does not mean that people can move around the commune of Ibanda. Confinement means people are at home at home”.

Only the necessary and mandatory services will continue their operation and ensure the health security of populations such as hospitals, security services, radio but with small teams.
