MAURITANIA: Activist Abda Wone is awarded for his fight for freedom.

The Convention of Non-State Actors of Guinea (CANEG), through its President Sékou Koureissy Condé, awarded the “Public Freedom Leadership Award” to Mauritanian human rights activist Abda Wone on Thursday 27 July 2017 at the Novotel Hotel in Conakry, the Guinean capital.

His efforts and struggle in Mauritania and Africa were rewarded at this price. “This prize, I dedicate it to all the fighting youth of Mauritania of Africa and the world. Pious thoughts to those who have formed me and who are no longer of this world. ” did he declare.

As a reminder, Abda Wone of his real name Abdarahmane Ndiawar Wone is known for his activism to end racism and slavery in Mauritania.

Abda Wone was born in Kaédi on June 16, 1973 before being deported to Senegal in 1989. Dubbed “Benjamin” by his elders in the African Liberation Forces of Mauritania (FLAM), his commitment forced the admiration of his predecessors fight.
