MOZAMBIQUE 2022: Can de beach-soccer: Living football differently
This Friday, October 21, 2022, at 15 hours 30 minutes, is held in Vilankulo, a city located 520 kilometers from Maputo, the Mozambican capital Can beach soccer. In the opening match, a clash of titans: the host country, host Mozambique and Malawi.
For the first day, the Mozambicans crushed the Malawian team. Group A, in which the host country is based, saw the success of Mozambique. This Saturday, Group B will see countries like Senegal-Uganda and Madagascar-Egypt. It promises.
This Friday, October 21, 2022 is a great day. It will hold over nine days in Mozambique the African Cup of Nations beach soccer, commonly called African Championship beach soccer. It’s a competition that we don’t hear much about. But, there is. A kind of happy hour before the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. The CAF, African Football Federation gave its ok for the kick-off for the beach soccer currently taking place in Mozambique. The host country, Mozambique, has only one bite of Malawi. 4-2. Successful entry for the host country.
Beach soccer is a sandy football, usually on the beach. It is similar to classic football, except that it is played in sand and not on a lawn. It is practiced with two teams of five players, without a defined number of replacements unlike football on a lawn. And then, the terrain has a smaller dimension. Even if it is not recognized by FIFA, it does its little bit of work. Today, through oily lobbying, it is beginning to emerge as a sport in its own right.
From October 21 to 30, Mozambique will be experiencing incredible moments with the CAN of Beach Soccer 2022. This country located in the south of Africa, bordered by the Indian Ocean and littered with beaches is the ideal place for football in the sand. The Can de Beach Soccer is organized by the CAF and takes place both times. Similar to roughly conventional football, the first two teams of the tournament are qualified for the Beach Soccer World Cup.
Soccer is more spectacular than football on a lawn. There are more technical gestures than in the football of Ronaldinho and Messi and Drogba. On sand, abrasive and bumpy, the players demonstrate talents that have nothing to envy to classic football on a lawn.
Senegal is the reigning winner. And not that. He is the winner of the last three competitions and in succession, Senegal leaves with the favourite’s cap. It is one of the top 10 Beach Soccer countries in the world.

FAILURE OF THE ELECTION OF THE FEGUIFOOT EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE – Guinea risks missing CAN 2023
The election of the members of the executive committee of the Guinean Football Federation, convened by the Standardization Committee on November 26, 2023, did not take place due to a lack of quorum. This election was therefore postponed to a later date.
The FIFA envoy invites Guinean football players to put aside their disagreements and make compromises for the happiness of football lovers. “Let’s put the egos aside, think about Guinean football, think about the journalists who live off it. Let’s compromise and move forward,” said Gelson Fernandes.
According to the FIFA Special Envoy, it is up to Guinea to deal with this problem. “Guinea is master of its own destiny. We will give our position. Guinea chooses which federation it wants to be in. The ball is in Guinea’s court. If she wants to move forward we will help her, but the ball is not in the CAF’s or FIFA’s court,” he suggested.
Referring to the failure to elect the members of the Executive Committee, Gelson Fernandes acknowledged that this is a serious situation and said he regretted the consequences it could have on the Syli as the CAN approaches which will take place in January-February 2024 in Côte d’Ivoire.
Finally, he invited Guinean football players to put their ego aside to allow Guineans to continue to live their passion to the full.
The term of the current Standards Committee is set for 30 November 2023. Guinean football is waiting.
