The German club’s central defender, RB Leibzig, Ibrahima Konaté, is expected to join the Liverpool Reds from the 2021/2022 season. Although at first the player denied the rumors about his departure to the English club, it now seems that the leaders of Liverpool approached those of Leibzig and a deal was apparently reached. According to information relayed by the British media Guardian, the Franco-Malian has signed a 5-year contract with Jorguën Klopp’s team. The amount of the transfer is 35 million euros, the value of the release clause of the young player of 21 years.

Franco-Malian defenseman Ibrahima Konaté is expected to play with the Liverpool Reds. The club now wants to remedy its defensive problems since the injuries of Dutchman Virgil Van Dijk, Englishman Joe Gomez and Cameroonian Joël Matip. The Reds’ leaders are heading into next season and expect to expand their ranks with the arrival of new players especially in central defense.
