Air Senegal will now enter a new era. The Senegalese company, as announced in May 2021, will be able to head to New York and Washington from September 2, 2021. The inaugural flight took place on the night of 1 to 2 September under the presence of several authorities including the Minister of Air Transport, Alioune Sarr.
A new chapter opens in Senegalese air transport. The company launched the first trip to American cities such as New York and Washington. Passengers to the United States will have direct flights on board the latest generation Airbus A330-900 neo aircraft, equipped with state-of-the-art technology with comfort, security and spacious cabins.According to the general manager of the Senegalese company, Ibrahima Kane, the inaugural flight, the night of September 1 to 2, was full with the influx of customers, most of whom came from the sub-region.
Speaking at the event, Alioune Sarr, Minister of Air Transport, announced that there will be two flights per week to and from Washington and New York.
Note that the Airbus A330 neo is, according to its manufacturer, a wide-body airliner, a long-haul medium capacity, developed from the Airbus A330, to give a new version with modern engines comparable to those of its competitor Boeing 787.
