SENEGAL – Amnesty International report on police violence


In front of the press yesterday, Amnesty International unveiled the contents of its 2020 annual report. Its Executive Director raised a number of points related to the violence that has shaken the country.

In the newspaper Kritik, it is mentioned that police violence, freedom of expression and assembly, access to health care, prison conditions, The cause of Lgbt people, the rights of children, among others, are a number of points raised by Amnesty International that demonstrate a country where human rights are violated.

The list is long, but if we take the example of police violence against citizens, Amnesty notes a death recorded in Fatick and three suspected cases for this act in addition to two seriously injured young people in Cap Skiring and four others in Gadaye.
