Africa is the continent least affected by the coronavirus pandemic and wants to remain so. To provide an effective response, African presidents are increasing videoconferences with members of their government, but also among themselves. In fact, on Friday, Macky Sall participated in a small meeting of Heads of State and Government of the African Union dedicated exclusively to the coronavirus pandemic.
The Communication Service of the Presidency of the Republic, the Senegalese Head of State, Macky Sall, focused his proposals on the economic and financial plan, to cushion the exit of the crisis of African countries after the coronavirus. “In particular, it made proposals in the direction of the cancellation of African public debt and the redevelopment of its private debt according to mechanisms to be agreed with the partners, in support of the considerable efforts already made by African countries.”, reports Seneweb.
The Palace added that Macky’s proposals “were welcomed and will be reflected in the Joint African Position Statement on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and response measures.”
