The President of the Republic Macky Sall proceeded to the symbolic presentation of the national flag to the national football team in view of the African Cup of Nations (Can) scheduled in Cameroon from January 9 to February 2022. The head of state galvanized Aliou Cissé’s men in the hope that they will bring back the trophy, a first in the history of Senegalese football. 

Senegal’s national team can now look at Can 2021 in Cameroon. President of the Republic Macky Sall handed over the national flag to Captain Kalidou Koulibaly by demanding the cup for this 33rd edition. This time, we are not talking about the final but about the cup. The cup and nothing else because a simple final is no longer a challenge to have experienced this level in the Africa Cup of Nations.”, insisted the head of state in his speech before the actors chosen by manager Aliou Cissé.

Macky Sall expressed the desire of the Senegalese people through his speech. The slogan is clear, “dem ba jeex” (go to the end). When you are in Cameroon, be fair-minded and fair-minded, fighting with courage and dignity… your significant and honourable career in the qualifying phase, your place as African First Nation football for the past few years, I am convinced that you are among the best in Africa, if not the best in Africa.” , said the Head of State.

The captain of the national team and central defender of Napoli held a speech that gives hope to all the Senegalese people. Number 3 of the Teranga Lions has promised that this year the whole team will give their all to win this long-awaited trophy by all Senegalese fans. “We are going to Cameroon with our involvement with that of our entire relations. We are going there with great ambition and envy. We go with the win to borrow the jargons of football and we will return with pride and mission accomplished. Long live Senegal, Before the Lions! We are ready!” said the defender.
