SENEGAL – Madiambal, Aliou Demburu, Farba Ngom, Malick Sall, Abdou Karim Sall… the voices of the Palace of the Thousand Hills, By Ousseynou LY

Rwanda 1994, we still remember the few words that were broadcast by Radio des Mille Collines and that tipped the country into a civil war between Hutus and Tutsi. Assessment of this tragedy: more than 1,074,017 Rwandan dead (https://reliefweb.int/report/rwanda/rwandagénocide-plus-dun-million-de-morts-bilan-officiel).
Senegal 2021, different times and contexts, but we can note similarities in the current demonization project … the ethnic lever to impose a personal and vicious political will. They no longer hesitate to exhibit their strategy of separating populations to liquidate a political opponent. Maneuvers and manipulations cannot be so dirty!
That these maneuvers could find a seat in less informed people, we could have tried to understand, and still, with difficulty. So, when they are endorsed by two (02) ministers sitting on the council on Wednesdays, deputies who collaborate in the first circle of the President of the Republic and a journalist who has been struck off the record and “Cuckold Mistress” of the court, there is something to be offended , even outraged, by the objective and its unfolding.
Who does not say a word consents, they say. If Macky Sall does not whistle the end of this strategy, it may be because he simply finds what he is looking for. No one can understand this social revenge that man, hated by his disastrous management of the country, wants to take on his people.
Never has a regime so despised its citizens. The vocabulary is new and the qualifiers are heavy, but for them nothing will be too much to endure in power and protect the band’s prebends. Aliou Demburu Sow had announced the color in October 2020 already when he asked his supporters to take the machetes to oppose them to anyone who would be against a third term. Let nothing more surprise us coming from these arsonists.
We must face the facts that Macky Sall and his clan will never stop playing with the lives of honest Senegalese citizens even after they are blamed for the loss of life and other damage resulting from the latest protests. They are irresponsible and inherently wicked! They want their system to survive, even if it means setting the country on fire by fueling the desire for a “mortal kombat” between “North” and “South”.
These different outings should no longer deceive the nature of Macky Sall and his collaborators. They are working to build an “immunity” which they believe would guarantee them a degree of untouchability during the remaining three years of their mandate or beyond.
Who knows ! Fortunately, the youth of Fuuta, like that of the whole country, deciding to side with the right side of history by taking responsibility, chased away these arsonists and actors of the division with this slogan, which had become famous and recalled the strict socio-economic reality of the region in particular and of Senegal in general since these people are in charge: Fuuta Tampi!
Chronic unemployment, ailing health system, insecurity, poverty, a tattered education system, social injustice, food insecurity, gagging of democracy and freedoms, indebtedness, squandering of our resources, corruption, nepotism, etc. These are all evils that terrorize populations.
Macky Sall can start by facing these. Powerless in the face of all this, he and his regime have decided to oppose their imaginary power to this People who just remind them, and will continue to do so, of their failure for 09 long years. Sanara Passara!

IVORY COAST – The PDCI-RDA march postponed to June 14 to support Tidjane Thiam

Initially scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 2025, the major march of the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA), the main opposition party in Côte d’Ivoire, will finally take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025. This postponement was announced by the party’s Executive Secretary, who points out that the decision came after discussions between the PDCI leadership and the authorities of the Abidjan department. The details of these discussions have not been made public.
This demonstration, highly anticipated by the party’s activists and supporters, aims to support the candidacy of its president, Tidjane Thiam, in the presidential election of 2025, and to protest against his removal from the electoral list. A decision that the party qualifies as unfair and unacceptable, arguing for the right of all Ivorian citizens, including those with dual nationality, to participate in the political life of the country.
The route of the march remains unchanged: the protesters will leave from the SOCOCE space of the 2 Plateaux, in the municipality of Cocody, to head towards the headquarters of the Independent Electoral Commission (CEI). The party calls for a strong peaceful mobilization in order to convey a clear message: demand inclusive, transparent and peaceful elections.
The removal of Tidjane Thiam and other opposition figures is mainly based on the issue of dual nationality, a legal provision that continues to be debated as the election approaches. The PDCI, which sees in Thiam a rally candidate capable of unifying the Ivorians, intends to make this march a highlight of its campaign and its democratic fight.

On this occasion, he reaffirmed the commitment of the transitional authorities to respect the deadlines set for the return to constitutional order, while stressing the historical and central role of Guinea in the construction of the Pan-African project.
« I am very happy. The African Union is at Guinea’s side to accompany and support the vision of the head of state, President Mamadi Doumbouya, in favor of Guinea and Africa, in the political, diplomatic, economic, and cultural fields, declared the head of Guinean diplomacy.
This meeting takes place in a context marked by the preparations for the constitutional referendum scheduled for next September 21.
Morissanda Kouyaté also recalled the founding involvement of Guinea in the creation of the Organization of African Unity, which became the African Union. “This visit materializes the commitment of the Peace and Security Council to accompany Guinea in a dynamic of ambitious political and diplomatic transformation,” he stressed.
The minister indicated that all actions related to the transition are currently funded by the national development budget, while calling for a broader mobilization of the international community. “We have requested a round table, called the Basketfront, to seek support to speed up the process. But this does not mean that we will give up,” he said, reiterating President Doumbouya’s willingness to scrupulously respect the scheduled deadlines.
He finally wanted to reassure on the efforts made to ensure an inclusive electoral process. “We are going through a difficult period, and that is why we want all Guineans to be registered in order to obtain a reliable electoral roll,” concluded Morissanda Kouyaté.
