SENEGAL: Sadio enters the history of Liverpool

The Senegalese number 10 of the Liverpool Reds, Sadio Mané, is now the 5th best scorer in Liverpool history. With his goal against Tottenham on the sidelines of the 20th day of the English championship on Thursday 28 January 2021, Sadio Mané is ahead of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez (69 goals), and is behind Robbie Fowler (128 goals), Steven Gerrard (120 goals), Michael Owen (118 goals) and Mohamed Salah (86 goals).

Since his arrival in Liverpool, Sadio Mané remains constant in his performances. Despite losing points to teams within their reach, the Reds woke up beating Tottenham 3-1 with a goal from the Senegalese striker. This goal, his 70th with Liverpool, propelled him into the top 5 of the club’s top scorers.

The child of Bambaly is also the 4 best African scorer of the Premier League, behind Ivorian Didier Drogba (104 goals), Togolese Emmanuel Adebayor (97 goals), Nigerian Aiyegbeni Yakubu (95 goals) and his teammate in Liverpool, Egyptian Mohamed Salah (88 goals).
