In my neighbourhood, I had serene neighbours, diola, wolof, manjack, bambara, toucouleur, balante, socé, diakhanké… And even Cameroonians… Muslims, Christians, ceddo… and we loved each other deeply.
Children are born between the multiple brewings between serene, diola, wolof, manjack, bambara, toucouleur, balante, socé, diakhanké… which has produced children as beautiful as they are intelligent.
In my own family, of Peuhl origin, the brewing took place during the generations: marriages took place with serene, manjack, socés or other… all the ethnic groups are there, the main Muslim religions-Christian too, for all this I could no longer define myself as Fulani… I am a simple Senegalese who loves her country, who loves her people. And to go further: I define myself perpetually as an African of Senegalese origin.
This is Senegal, Senegal, of peace, tolerance, love, sharing, joy, peaceful relations. The Senegal of Tabaski, Koreity, Christmas, Ramadan, Lent… religious holidays, cultural festivals, celebrated by the whole population without distinction of culture, religion or other blocking devices. Senegal of Teranga, so generous…
Senegal is ONE and INDIVISIBLE. Stop the evil arsonists! We do not need arsonists with murderous mouths, fire and hate spitters, self-hatred, hatred of the other, hatred at all.
We don’t need a divisionist. We do not need verbal violence, disorder of conscience, nervousness, separatists, outlaws, griot of disorder, suitcase of evil, bucket of disorder. We do not need to detach, dissociate, divide, divide, divide, divide a united people. Senegal is ONE and INDIVISIBLE. Stop the evil arsonists!
We must not condone violence. We must not for personal, central, navel-gazing, spurious interests forget the general interest, the interest of the 16 million Senegalese, as enlightened as each other, as intelligent as each other, as loving as each other. As worthy as each other. Senegal is ONE and INDIVISIBLE. Stop the evil arsonists!
This Senegal, great men, great religious dignitaries, this Senegal of enlightened intellectuals, this Senegal of women and men of greatness, this Senegal with a determined, conscious youth, a youth that only asks to get out of it. This youth that demands only its due: a dignified formation, a dignified work, a dignified future. Senegal is ONE and INDIVISIBLE. Stop the evil arsonists!
Finally, Senegal is the country of cousins with jokes who dedicate themselves a viscerally beautiful love and sincerely anchored in our culture for generations and generations. Let us continue to cultivate peace and love. We strongly need it in these times of psychological disorder.
Senegalese are BEAUTIFUL!
Senegalese women are BEAUTIFUL!
Senegal is ONE and INDIVISIBLE.
