The Senegalese international, Youssouf Sabaly, will discover the Spanish championship from the 2021/2022 season. After having passed the medical examination in Barcelona, the Senegalese lateral arrived at the San Pedro de Seville airport on Monday 7 June 2021 to finalize his three-year contract with Betis Seville. The 28-year-old Girondins de Bordeaux defender will try a new experience with a nice team from Bétis Seville ranked 6th with 61 points at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
Youssouf Sabaly will play in Betis Seville for a three-year contract. The Senegalese international from Bordeaux arrived in Seville on Monday 7 June 2021 for the final details of its transfer. Moreover, he was not able to play the friendly match of Senegal against Zambia because of the administrative procedures related to his new contract. However, Youssouf Sabaly could play the Teranga Lions match against Cape Verde this Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Stade Lat Dior de Thiès. Details of the transfer are not delivered yet but what is sure is that the Senegalese defender will play for Betis Seville until 2024.
Youssouf Sabaly was selected for the 2018 World Cup. He has played all the matches of the chicken phases as left back. Senegal was eliminated in the first round on the criterion of fair play while it was tied with Japan. In 2019, Youssouf Sabaly reached the final of the African Cup of Nations in Egypt but Senegal lost to Algeria (1 – 0).
