THE KING OF THE BALLOON – Pelé hospitalized again in Sao Paulo, his daughter wants to reassure

In the middle of the World Cup, Pelé was once again hospitalized in a hospital in São Paulo. According to ESPN in Brazil, the football legend came with various swellings on the body, as well as heart failure. Another concern is that chemotherapy for several months to fight Brazilian cancers would have had only a very limited effect.
New alert for Pele. This Tuesday, the Brazilian legend showed up at the Albert Einstein hospital in São Paulo by surprise, according to ESPN in Brazil. The reason: generalized swelling and heart failure, identified by medical services. As stated by the Brazilian media, he was received in a state of mental confusion. At 82 years old, he underwent a battery of tests this Wednesday to deepen the diagnosis.
The main cause for concern, however, is a conclusion made by the doctors: the chemotherapy Pelé has been undergoing for several months has not had the desired effect. Very weak, it would also have a lot of difficulty to feed according to the Brazilian media. On Instagram, his daughter Kelly Nascimiento wanted to reassure: “There is neither surprise nor urgency”.
“My father is hospitalized to regulate his medication (…),” she added. I’m not going on the next flight, my brothers are in Brazil and I’m going to New Year’s. I promise you that I will publish pictures,” she added, to reassure fans after rumours that the health of the “King” Pelé has worsened. Another daughter of Pelé, Flavia Nascimento, was also reassuring.
‘There is some confusion because my father went to the hospital for tests. I am sorry that the careless media are talking about things that don’t exist, things that we don’t know about,’ she said in an Instagram video. ‘He is in fact doing tests, as usual, to monitor his cancer. We have to keep sending him the good energy of the World Cup, that’s what he needs,’ she insisted.
Former No. 10, considered by many to be the greatest footballer of all time, has been visiting the hospital regularly for chemotherapy since a colon tumor was detected in August 2021. On 23 October, he said he was “happy” to celebrate his 82 years “with health” in a video posted on Instagram. Last Thursday, on the same social network, Pelé asked the Seleçao players to “bring the trophy home”, on the day of Brazil’s first match at the World Cup in Qatar, won 2-0 against Serbia.
On Wednesday in Qatar, lateral Alex Tels reacted to the hospitalization of the football “King” in a press conference, two days before Friday’s match against Cameroon. “It’s hard to talk about our king, they represent us all over the world. I pray to God that he stays strong with us. A kiss to his family, everything will be fine,’ said the FC Seville player.
