When will an African team win the World Cup? Samuel Eto’o has the answer. The Indomptable Lion believes that the continent must be ambitious for the 2022 edition and focus on Tunisia. By John ATTISSO
Tunisia is third in the 2019 CAN and is entering a new era with Mondher Kebaier. With this local coach, the Federation intends to give a new dynamic to the team after the Alain Giresse period. A change that excites Eto’o and is very ambitious for this team during the next World Cup.
“Tunisia? It has all the means it takes to qualify and not play only to participate. This is a great team that can win the World Cup,” he said.
According to Samuel Eto’o, the African teams have the stature to challenge any team at the World Cup: “Mentalities must change. We are no less than anyone. What we lack in Africa is self-esteem.”
As a reminder, the 2022 World Cup will be held from November 21 to December 18 in Qatar.
