SENEGAL: Coronavirus: The country validates Artemesia and challenges WHO

The planned disaster in Africa regarding Coronavirus disease “will not happen,” said Senegal’s health authorities, where the Scientific Committee validated the use of Artemesia to treat Covid-19. By Abubakr DIALLO

“I remain convinced that Africa will be able to face and all the disaster, all the disaster that was planned with this Covid in Africa will not happen, Inchallah,” said Dr. Abdoulaye Bousso, Director of the Centre for Emergency Health Operations. In addition, they are responsible for the fight against the Coronavirus in Senegal, while the WHO says it fears 190 thousand deaths of Covid-19 in Africa.
While Senegal is trying to control the spread of the disease on its soil, Dr Bousso evokes justifies the performance by:

systematic and rapid hospitalization,
the local presence of screening capabilities,
the generalized prescription of the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine,
the youth of the sick.

“Africa has moved very quickly to take strong measures, unlike in Europe, France, Italy, Spain or the United States,” said Dr Bousso. “ that Africa could do relatively better than other parts of the world, despite fears about the state of its health systems.

For his part, Professor Daouda Ndiaye, regarding the Covid Organics of Madagascar, confirms that «the product has arrived, and I must receive information». However, according to the head of the Department of Mycology Parasitology of the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar, «one cannot give the drug to a person without analyzing it before».

And Professor Daouda Ndiaye revealed: “We are going towards the use of Artemisia. On our side, on the scientific side, we have a green light.”
