ALGERIA: Air Algeria resumes its domestic and repatriation flights

The Algerian national airline company announced this Monday, November 30, 2020, the resumption of repatriation flights for Algerians stranded abroad since December 6, 2020. This resumption in both directions Algeria-Foreign and Foreign-Algeria will be done under certain conditions .

After more than eight months of waiting, the national airline Air Algeria was authorized to resume flights again as of Sunday December 6th. In a statement made public, Air Algeria detailed the conditions to be met to benefit from its domestic flights and repatriation.

Flights from abroad, which will be operated by Air Algérie, will be open only to Algerian passport holders, with the obligation to present a “negative PCR test 72 hours before the flight”. They must also be registered with Algerian representations abroad and hold an Air Algeria plane ticket.

For citizens wishing to travel abroad, they must, according to Air Algérie, strictly comply with the entry conditions of the countries of destination. Note that domestic flights will also resume on the same date of December 6. Travelers must wear a mask and hold a confirmed ticket on the flight in question.

This news should rejoice the airline, which is in financial hollow due to the closure of borders following the health security measures imposed by the Algerian authorities to protect citizens against the risk of contagion from the coronavirus.
