CAMEROON: Christian Bassogog Best Player of CAN 2017

Sparkling, fast and endowed with a vision of rather impressive game, Christian Bassogog is a player of the Cameroonian selection born on October 18, 1995 in Douala. He grew up in a district of Douala called New Bell Nguangue.

His football career began with the training center of Fundesport, the football academy founded by Samuel Eto’o. In April 2014, he signed at Rainbow Fc Bamenda before joining the American club Hammerheads Wilmington in November of the same year but he struggles to make a name.

In August 2015, he played with the Danish club Aalborg to try to raise his level of play but he spent one season with this club without really succeeding in giving satisfaction to his team. Then, in February 2017, he joined China with the Henan Jianye FC club and started to be one of the leaders of the team. He extended his contract with this Chinese club on April 2, 2018.
He finds his favorite position playing on the right side to be able to return and put on his left foot.

It is in this position that he distinguished himself at the 31st edition of the CAN in Gabon by finishing best player of this edition and winning the trophy against the Pharaohs of Egypt 2 to 1.

Christian Bassogog has not yet scored in this 2019 CAN, but he still retains his place and is dangerous every time the indomitable Lions have already qualified in the round of 16 even before playing their third match this Tuesday, July 2, 2019 against The Benin.
