FCA received expressions of interest from countries wanting to host the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations. Currently, four applications are known. These are Algeria, Botswana, Egypt, and a joint bid from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. The next stage is set for 23 May 2023, the deadline for member associations to submit their final application, including all application and host documents (framework agreement, agreement with host cities, government guarantees, etc.) which must be duly signed.

The inspection visits will take place from June 1 to July 15, 2023, as decided by the FCA Executive Committee.

As a reminder, in the approach of the next African Cup of Nations (CAN 2024), the African Football Confederation (CAF) is not sure that Côte d’Ivoire can host the event. The reason for this is that the West African country has difficulty in completing the work at the various sites chosen to organize the NPC. Charles Dago, a former Ivorian international football player, confirmed this information in a statement given to «Afrik-Foot».

Personally, I don’t know anymore if we will organize the CAN. If stadium work is progressing slowly, this is not the case for other infrastructures such as training stadiums,” said the former Lokeren striker.

Today, when you arrive in Côte d’Ivoire, you see nothing that shows that this country will organize the most prestigious football competition. From the airport to the borders of the most remote communes, you don’t feel anything at all. I don’t know why this silence?” he continued.
