In Africa, prevention measures are linked to the Covid-19 pandemic. With the closing of borders and schools and curfews observed in some countries of the sub-region, comes a reorganization of working hours.
In Senegal, the President of the Republic, Macky Sall himself announced on his Facebook page the measure in the evening of this Wednesday, March 25, 2020: “I decided to change, during the state of emergency, the schedules of work in the administration, now fixed from 9 am to 3 pm ”.
In Côte d’Ivoire, such a decision has been taken. In this country, working hours in the public administration are now adjusted from 8 am to 2 pm without interruption, according to a statement from the Ministry of Public Service.
“During the entire crisis, services must be organized to take into account health measures adopted by the government, in particular the distance of at least one meter between officers in an office,” the statement also said. Shift work is also prescribed with the double shift system.
