The platform that brings together members of the opposition met this Friday, August 2, 2019 in Abidjan to continue the reflections around a front against the RHDP (Rally of Houphouetists for Democracy and Peace) President Alassane Dramane Ouattara.

This coalition intends to synergize all the forces of the Ivorian political scene. Indeed, Henri Konan Bedié, former Ivorian president and leader of the PDCI (the Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire), invited his counterparts Guillaume Soro, former president of the National Assembly and member of the FPI (Ivorian People’s Front) of President Laurent Gbagbo as well as that all parties and movements to bend the regime of the president in the next presidential elections scheduled for October 2020.

Indeed, supporters of Guillaume Soro have confirmed that the former president of the National Assembly has agreed to the unity of the Ivorian opposition. For the moment, no official statement has been made as part of its integration into the platform. Activists of the former rebel leader prefer to keep the suspense until Guillaume Soro, currently seeking support abroad, is back home.

Always with the aim of bringing together the leaders of the Ivorian political arena, Henri Konan Bédié already met Monday, July 29, 2019 in Brussels Laurent Gbagbo. The latter, very favorable to his request, will manage the split in his political party. The FPI is still cut in half with one side Pascal Affi N’Gessan pimps and the other supporters of Gbagbo who do not recognize Pascal Affi N’Gessan as the new president of the party.
