Former Health Minister Magda Nely Robalo is the new County President of the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. She took up her duties in this new institution a week ago, according to her. The announcement was made on his facebook page on May 20, 2020.
“It is with great honour that I assumed the role of Chair of the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria Ethics and Governance Committee a week ago. I appreciate the confidence of the members of the Board of Directors for election, which was preceded by a careful selection process.” , she said.
Magda Nely Robalo was Minister of Public Health in Aristide Gomes’ government. The latter lost the recent presidential elections against President Umaro Sissoko Embalo.
The Global Fund was created by Ghanaian Kofi Annan. This organization is fighting HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria and strengthening health systems for developing countries so that they can take care of populations in good sanitary conditions.
